FV Leiden RealFast® Assay

The FV Leiden RealFast™ Assay provides a fast and accurate real-time PCR kit for detection of 1691G>A mutation. This mutation occurs in the human coagulation Factor V (F5) gene. This is referred to as FV Leiden, a point mutation which has been assocaited with the hereditary condition Thombophilia (an abnormality in blood coagulation which is relatively common). This kit is designed to identify patients at risk of venous thromboembolism by the qualitative discrimination of the three possible FV 1691G>A genotypes in a human DNA extract: GG (normal), GA (heterozygous) or AA (homozygous mutant).
