HSV OligoGen
HSV OligoGen is a test designed for the detection and differentiation of Herpes simplex virus type 1 and 2, by a common amplification and subsequent specific identification in two different oligoimmunochromatographic strips.
The HSV OligoGen kit relies on polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification of particular regions of the DNA of Herpes Simplex Virus and its subsequent detection by hybridizing to a specific probe, revealed on an oligoimmunochromatography strip.
- All PCR reagents are included in the kit: Taq polymerase, primers and Master Mix.
- Several kinds of methods have been validated: salting-out, silica columns, commercial kits (automated extraction), etc.
- Strips detect DNA from the Herpes Simplex Virus and show results with color bands visible to the naked eye.
- Minimal equipment required (thermal cycler, thermal block).
