As a chronic brain disorder, narcolepsy causes poor control of sleep-wake cycles. Those with narcolepsy have periods of extreme daytime sleepiness and sudden, bouts of sleep that can occur at any time.
The Genvinset® HLA Narcolepsy Disease is a Real-Time PCR assay for detection of Detection of HLA-DQB1 06:02 alleles. This assay features fast results in only 90 minutes, with clear and easy interpretation and results. This assay requires no electrophoresis.
Narcolepsy is characterized by sudden sleep attacks, insomnia, dream-like hallucinations, and a condition called sleep paralysis. It may be as prevalent in the developed world as multiple sclerosis or Parkinson’s disease.
