CT OligoGen is a test designed for the detection of Chlamydia trachomatis by simultaneous amplification of two independent targets of its DNA: one in the cryptic plasmid and another in its own genome and subsequent identification by oligoimmunochromatography.
The CT OligoGen kit relies on polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification of particular regions of the DNA of Chlamydia trachomatis and its subsequent detection by hybridizing to a specific probe, revealed on an oligoimmunochromatography strip.
